How to choose an Uzbekistan tour
Start with how you want to travel. Group departures run on fixed dates with up to 12 travellers, and each date carries its own price — 3 trips have dates on sale now. Private tours run for your party alone, on the dates you choose; 4 trips are built that way.
Then decide how long. Three- and four-day trips are add-ons: the Aral Sea, the Fergana Valley, or Turkmenistan from Khiva. Six to eight days covers Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara; choose a route with Khiva for all four Silk Road cities. Eleven to twelve days add Karakalpakstan and the Aral Sea or the Fergana Valley and the desert together. Kyrgyzstan is a seven-day crossing through Osh to Lake Issyk-Kul.
Spring, from April to early June, and autumn, from September to early November, are the best months: 20–28°C and clear light on the tilework. July and August pass 40°C, so summer days start early and keep the middle of the day for museums and lunch.
Prices are per person and land only. Nothing is paid until 60 days before the start, and until then your dates can be moved free of charge.

Prices and booking terms
- Prices are per person in US dollars, based on two people sharing a room. Travelling alone means a single supplement, which we quote before you commit to anything.
- A price shown against a specific departure date applies to that date only.
- Prices are for the trip on the ground: international flights to and from Uzbekistan are not included. What each price includes and leaves out is listed on the trip’s own page.
- We do not add fuel surcharges or booking fees after you have been quoted. If a cost genuinely moves — a museum raising its entry price, say — you hear it from us before you pay, not on arrival.
Payment, date changes and cancellation
- Nothing to pay until 60 days before the start — the booking holds without a card.
- Change your dates free of charge up to 60 days ahead; from day 59, 20% of what you have paid.
- Cancel 60 days or more ahead and nothing is kept.

Booking questions
How do I book a tour?
Choose a date on the tour page and hold it. The seats are yours for 48 hours, with no card and no deposit, while we send you the day-by-day. For a private tour, send us your dates instead.
Once the booking is confirmed, it holds without payment until 60 days before the start.
When do I pay?
60 days or more before the start: nothing. The booking holds without a card or a deposit — we only need your name, email and the number of travellers.
From day 59: $100 per person within 3 banking days, with each traveller’s passport details and your arrival flight number. If it does not arrive, the booking is cancelled automatically.
By day 30: at least 70% of the package price in total.
On the first day of the tour: the remaining 30%, on the spot, before the first service.
Booked fewer than 30 days ahead: 70% within 3 banking days, the remaining 30% on the spot.
Booked fewer than 10 days ahead: 100% within 3 banking days.
Seats on Uzbek trains go on sale exactly 60 days before departure. Until then there is nothing for us to buy, so there is nothing for you to pay.
Can I change my dates?
60 days or more before the start: free.
59 to 8 days: 20% of the amount paid by the day you tell us.
7 days or less: no date change; the cancellation terms apply.
The new date must be within 6 months of the original one. You can move to any available tour, not only the one you booked. If the new trip costs more, you pay the difference; if it costs less, the difference stays with you as credit for 12 months. Up to two date changes per booking. The whole group moves together; within 30 days of the start a booking is not split between departures.
What if I have to cancel?
60 days or more before the start: nothing is kept.
59 to 31 days: $100 per person (the deposit).
30 to 15 days: 50% of the package price.
14 days or less: what you have already paid (70%). Nothing more is charged and nothing is refunded.
A no-show: 100%. The unpaid 30% is charged to the card guarantee.
Refunds are paid within 14 working days of the cancellation being confirmed.
What if you cancel the trip?
A full refund of everything paid, including the deposit and any date-change fee.

Get the dates before everyone else
New departures, the occasional reduced price, and a note when a trip that fills up is about to. A few times a year — never a drip campaign.
